Is it better to stay on H1 or switch to EAD?

Hi,

   Is it better to go on EAD or stay on H1?

- If I go on EAD, will my H1 time stop?

- Later on if I want to go on H1 ( for some reason ) how difficult is it
  to get an H1.

- In case I switch to EAD and later on decide to go on H1, will I have to
  file a new H1 or an old valid H1 will do.
