Hey folks,

This is my first time in this particular forum. I spend mostly a lot of time in the 485 Issues forum trying to look out for my friend's case. I think I will be eligible to apply for citizenship this Nov. I was wondering how you folks are handling your cases .... are you filing it by yourself or have you hired an attorney to do so? Was just wondering which is better/efficient/faster??? Your inputs/suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I had the same question as you, and as such, spoke to several immigration lawyers about my naturalization application. All of them told me that I do not need a lawyer and that I should do it myself.

I think the general rule of thumb is that you can just go ahead and do it yourself (it's not difficult) unless there are issues that you are concerned about.
