Please help and clarify.

I got an email from CRIS for my EB2-NIW petition which has the following information.

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR
TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Document OTHER THAN CARD manufactured and mailed.

On December 27, 2006, we mailed the document we manufactured based on
our earlier approval of this case, and mailed it to the address on we
have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you
do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case
status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from
USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS
Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at
www.uscis.gov under Case Status & Processing Dates.
*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

what are ur case details? center? ND , PD ...? can u clarify? any idea about the namecheck? from which country?

I got the same message for me and my wife what it means Please help!!! Its approved or its a mistake or...

In most cases, it means......lost mail which got returned to USCIS....

Like FP Notice getting getting returned to USCIS....

I did not get any RFE. Instead the 797 form was FP notice....so I am not sure if that is what they meant earlier on!

This message about ocument OTHER THAN CARD manufactured and mailed, came yesterday and i have no clue what that cryptic message means.

I guess when you call NSC about this they will tell you to wait for 30 days to get this so called "document other than card" before they give you any answer. If after 30 days you do not get anything and if you call them, they will send an enquiry. So do that if you do not get anything after 30 days. I am guessing that it's the FP notice that you just received. But just to be on safe side after a couple of weeks if you do not receive anything call NSC, choose the option to: "check your status", then choose the option: "If it has been over 30 days and you have not received anything press X". This will take you straight to TSC and you can tell them that you have not received anything after the FP notice and they will make a note of it or will tell you if they have sent you anything after the FP notice and will resend it to you after confirming your address.

HaraKad...as I said earlier....In most cases that message pops up when USCIS sends the FP notice to you but it gets retunred to them for some reason...invalid address etc...
It usually refers to returned mail for USCIS...

HaraKad, was your earlier message saying Request for Evidence? If so, may be your RFE got returned to USCIS....that's another possibility...You may have gotten both RFE and FP Notices...

This means that they did send you an RFE which you may not have received. It is very crucial that you follow up on this as there are only particular number of weeks that they give you to answer an RFE and if you do not respond within that time frame your case is supended. So do not assume that it was a FP notice on I-797 that you were expecting. It could be an actual RFE which you never received. So do not ignore this issue and follow up on it.

Ok, thanks for explaining it so clearly.

I did not get any RFE notice. All I got was an FP notice. We called USCIS this morning and the case worker explained that our case has been pre-adjudicated and the "Approval notice" has been sent. We will however get the actual card only after the FP is done...

Anywayz, I am waiting for the mail to get this confirmed.

Will keep you posted.
