Hi:
I have a question regarding the following-to-join I 485 application. I heard for those follow-to-join I 485 applicant, interview is usually needed because the INS needs to inspect the marriage, see whether there is a fraud or not.
My case is: My husband applied for I 485 on Jan, 2001, we got married on June, 2001 and his I 485 got approved on Aug, 2001. I haven\'t file my derivative application yet.
What I heard is: if you file the case before his case gets approved, these two cases will be bind together and usually takes another 3-4 months before it gets approved. Is that right?
But now mine is a totally separate case, so it may take another 9-12 months if no interview is needed. But I heard for this kind of case, interview is very likely to occur. Is that right?
What you need to prepare for the interview. any evidence to prove the marriage?
Anybody has similar situation or experience, please feel free to contact me at joan_usus@yahoo.com. I would really appreciate your help.
