Context: I am currently in the US on my F1 OPT visa. My F1 visa is valid till 2028 and my OPT is valid till Jan 2026. I just started working as a full time software engineer and my employer had filed H1B on my behalf last month.
Question: I have an inquiry regarding international travel. I am considering a spontaneous trip to India next month for about 2-3 weeks and wanted to know if that would pose any issues for re-entry into the U.S, or potentially impact the H-1B process in any way.
Would it be possible to travel and return on my current F-1 OPT visa without any consequences? I am not entirely sure what the next steps are in the process, and would appreciate any guidance
