Is H1-B transfer needed when initial company is acquired by another ?

Help !!!

I have my H-1B sponsored by company A, which is recently acquired by company B.

But B said that since it is an acquisision, I don\'t need to transfer my H-1B. My original one is still valid. If i need to travel outside USA, they will simply write a letter to explane this acquisition.

L2 to H1B visa stamping in Mumbai Consulate

I came to US on L2 visa and changed my status to H1B. I have been working for last 3 years and would like to visit Mumbai, India in June.
1. How difficult/easy is the procedure to get the visa stamped?
2. I will have to appear for the interview as I do not qualify for the drop box. How long does it takes to get the interview scheduled?
