Dear friends,

I am with a consulting company and working for a client. Consultant company is processing my GC through RIR. GC process is started on July/August2000. Currently it is in labour certification stage.

Client asked me to join as permanent or leave. My consultant company is saying, instead of coming on to bench join as a permanent with the client until I-140 with the consultant company comes or consultant finds a job.

My question, is leaving consultant company for a while and coming back going to affect my current GC process. Is this valid? Or After coming back, do I need to start the GC procees all over again from scratch.

Thank you for your valuable suggestions and information.

GC is for a FUTURE job.

If your employer (consulting firm) is okay with you joining the client, and you are okay with it, do so. Your GC application is for a future job. It is entirely possible for your company to contiune processing your GC, even upto the 485 stage, as long as you join them once the approval is granted.
