Is fbi security clearance as same as name check?

I just received USCIS response on my 485 status formal query, saying my case is delayed due to fbi security clearance. What does this mean? Is this the same as many people talking about as the name check? Can it be expediated by ways as contacting senator as the name check? Thanks!

When was your FP completed? How did you make a formal query with the TSC?

FP done in April 04.
I called the 1-800 number after my case is over the processing time as specified on the USCIS website. I let them do a formal inquery on my case status. The phone guy told me they will give me a response within one month. And I did recieve the response in 30 days.

Today i found out there is no "FBI" shown in the status letter. I'm just curious it's not like the name check by FBI? Or just an excuse of TSC for messing up my case?????
