Is EAD valid after AOS is cancelled?

Hi, I am DV2005 winner, filed AOS on Jan. 3rd, 2005, got my EAD (it expires 02/04/06).

Question: If for some reason my AOS is denied or cancelled will my EAD continue be valid until expiration date as long as I maintain my student status?

I'm not 100%sure, but logically if it was based on AOS and AOS doesn't go through, it's not valid. Well, immigration isn't always logical. Anybody else have a comment?
