Is EAD = SSN?

My wife got her EAD. What does she has to answer, if she is asked SSN for a job? Is EAD equalent to SSN? Can she write EAD in the place of SSN on forms?

You'll need a SSN to get paid. Most states deduct social security & medicare tax. You'ld also get an annual statement of accounts from SS administration as how much were your social security wages/salary. All of these are based on your SSN.

Thanks for the information. I went to the local SSA office. She will get her SSN within 2 weeks.
