Is EAD required to change job after 180 days ?

Hi All,
Now memo is out for AC21, this is really a great boon for all of us, but one thing still not clear for me.
1)If one maintains H1 during I-485 stage, while changing job after 180 days does he has to file for transfer of H1 when he joins new employer?
2) Or Does one need to have EAD to change the job after 180 days.

Please throw some light on this.

It is a good question. Currently I hold EAD and got laid off after completing 180 days from ND. I am planning to take up the job on EAD. Any input on this is appreciated.

Yes, you need one of them to work in US.

I had same question in my mind. The way indurstry is going, I will be surprised if I am at same client untill I get green Card. And if I am off the project the desi company will definately not put me on bench for more than a week.
I have passed ND+ 180 days. So gurus will I need EAD to get my own job if situation arises?

Better get EAD soon. You donot have to apply to VSC for EAD. You can go to your local INS to apply EAD and mostly they give your EAD pretty soon. Some places you get the next day. This will be safe and as per the somewhat clear regulations on AC21 you should be able to get a perm. position. Goodluck.
