Is EAD renewal really that fast at VSC? Please share your experience!

Hi gurus,
Is EAD renewal really that fast at VSC? On the November 8 processing date, EAD based on a pending I-485 adjustment application [(c)(9)] is
November 01, 2004. Do you believe it? Please share your experience. My current EAD will expire on May 2005. Does it make sense for me to apply 5 months ahead (i.e. Dec 04)?

that might true. One of close friend got his EAD & AP in one week. I too heard lot of people are getting their EAD's no later than 3 weeks.
 
Yes - we got our EAD approval in about 3 weeks. We lost about 2 months or more from the previous EAD as a result, but that was the tradeoff.
 
Yes ... I believe so.

In September, my wife's EAD and AP renewals took little over a week!
 
I got my EAD approved in a week, AP in 10 days!

Sent both by fedex on Oct 18. Recd EAD in mail on friday. and AP in mail yesterday.
 
Yes, EAD/AP renewal is indeed very quick at VSC these days. We applied for 3rd EAD/AP on Sep 15, EAD was approved on Oct 7, and AP on Oct 13. However, the EAD group made an error, and gave us same dates of validity as previous card!!! So, we had to send back the EAD cards and fax a request to issue new cards with correct validity dates. This was on Oct 26. Since then nothing......

However, meanwhile I-485 group got its act together and approved 485 for my wife and me, so now I dont expect to hear back from the EAD guys at VSC, nor does it matter I think.

Bottom line, they are processing EAD/AP at record speeds, but they are also making mistakes because of that!
 
Applied for EAD (for spouse and child) on Oct 27 or 28 (3 months in advance), recently received a receipt, LUD changed 11/05/04 but message is same (application received..), hope to get them soon. Still I think it is better to apply 3 months in advance, even if you loose 2.5 months.. just to be safe... new EAD is valid not since your old EAD termination, but since new EAD approval, so they may overlap...
