Is EAD necessary when entering as AP?

Guys,
I have am traveling with AP next week but I havent received my EAD card yet. A friend of mine saying that it is necessary to have EAD when I want to enter the USA. The officer may question me about EAD card. Is this right? Was anybody questioned about EAD after entering on AP?

No -- EAD is NOT required to enter the US on AP.

Even on the EAD it clearly states that it is not valid for re-entry to the US !!
I've entered on AP a few times and I was never ever asked about EAD card.
