Hi
I have posted this in the 2011 DV Winners from Indonesia thread but got no response, therefore I decided to open the questions to all members.
I am a 2011 DV Lottery winner from Indonesia currently working and living in Singapore. My case # is 22XXX. Based on the bulletin, it should become current in May. The thing is I am currently working in a job that distresses me both mentally and physically. I strongly feel that I need to quit this job soon, but at the same time I also wonder if being unemployed will be an obstacle during the interview and prevent me from getting a green card - therefore it's better to just hang on until I pass the interview.
So I'd like to ask these questions to people who have successfully passed the GC interviews:
- Did the interviewer ask for proof of current employment during the interview? (just like B/tourist visa interview)
- Do you think that being unemployed during the time of the interview will severely harm my chances of getting the green card?
- Do you think it's safe for me to quit my job and show up interview unemployed or it's better for me to just hang on until I pass the interview?
FYI: I have a bachelor's degree in CompSci from a reputable US University. I have about 4 years worth of job experience including 2 years working in California.
Thank You
