IS AP valid only for the country applied for

WHen I sent my AP papers, I attached the letter saying that I need to travel to India... Can I use the AP for travelling to Europe or different country?
I have AP's valid until Dec 2004.\

AP is used to enter back to USA. As long as it is valid, you will be allowed to come back to USA no matter what country you visit. It does not matter what reason you put in for applying AP.
 
Doesnt matter which Country you visit. I have traveled to different countries and have re-entered the US several times using AP.
