Hello Loton,
No, I did not apply for my 485 and 765 together. At the time I was applying for my 485, I had received my new work authorization from the vermont service center good thru end of July 2002 so I did not apply for work authorization at that time. According to my lawyer, he sent in our 485 in Mid August but we did not receive the notice from MSC until October. To my suprise yesterday, I check the AVM at MSC and it had updated with the following message "On September 4th, We received your fingerprint fee and processing has resumed". I don't know what this message means but I am glad that it has changed from receipt number not found. I checked with FBI several weeks backs regarding my fingerprints and they indicated that the fingerprints results were forwarded to INS on November 8, 2001. So, it is hard to figure out what this message means because the INS had the results since November of last year. I don't know if my file has been transfered to local INS or not. So far my lawyer has not received any transfer notice from INS. According to the regulation, the interview at the local INS is suppose to check to see if you meet citizenship test. I have submitted my highschool diploma as proof of my ability to meet the citizenship criteria as well as my school records from 6=12 grade. I am hoping that my case will not be transfer to local INS. (I guess this might be just wishful thinking). Did you submit any such documents? Does the AVM indicates that your file has been transfered or did you receive a notice? I know the feeling, it surely has been a long time. Over 12 years since we have applied to get our status adjusted but so far more and more delays. I would think that we would be the first in any Q.
Take Care
