Is all TCS office on vacation?

It seems no activity on this forum. May be all TCS office went on vacation because of hot summer?????
No updates.

Nothing.

It looks like 485 will take decades to approve???

There are several reasons behind this apparent slowdown. I think the majority of cases are EB3s and since USCIS cannot approve any EB3 cases till atleast OCT 05 things seem to be very quite. A few EB1 and EB2 approvals keep popping up here and there but in gerneral TSC has been extremely quiet. I think a lot of nurses and physical therapists must be seeing approvals because they took away 50 thousand EB3 visas and alloted it to them. I don't think there are to many nurses and physicial therapists that follow this forum. That probably adds to the feeling of things slowing down. The third factor is that its summer and a lot of the officers are probably on vacation.

I am a physician Eb-2 closely following this. You are wrong about classifying physicians under eb-3. generally all physicians fall under eb-2 as far as I know. to my knowledge not many physicians got their approvals in july or this month. but one thing "we" heard(unofficially) that all service centers are busy tabulting the numbers to help state department to announce the retrogression process in all the categories and understand it is very bad. May be right, may be wrong.

USCIS has been instructed to allot the 50,000 visas to Category A workers within EB3s. This category is for Nurses and Physical Therapists (not physicians as I had stated earlier). I think all Physicians fall under EB2 as you have stated.

Regarding the retrogression, the problem is self created by the USCIS. In 2004 they issued instructions to all centers to process 140s and 485 concurrently (together). Since all categories were current at the time all service centers started approving 03 and 04 cases at a rapid pace without a care for cases as far back as 01,02 and even a few 03s. What added to this problem was the fast pace of CSC and VSC. They approved so many cases out of order and ate up so many visa numbers that nothing was left for cases that were filed earlier. As unfair and stupid as this sounds, this is what happened. Now they are running around trying to fix a problem they created. People like us are getting screwed in the process.

Isn't it unbelieveable how bad this system actually is. I guess government processes are government processes no matter where you go ... all of them suck.
