Is Afidavite Of Support Necessary?

Hi all,

Recently my case (I-485 245(i)) has been transfered to cleveland local office. Now my attorney says along with EVL, I will have to submit an afidavite of support signed by employer. I never knew this (afidavite of support) from forum.

Does anyone has submitted this afidavite of support at the time of interview?

I heard that affidavit is required if employer is your relative. Could your lawyer mean employment letter?
