i am a Kenyan DV winner by the time I got my visa i wasnt married but now I have a person i want to settle with in life. I am planning to travel to the states stay for 11/2 years come back for the maximum allowed 6 months to get married and enjoy abit then go back to the states for three years with a return home each december for holidays. and then come back home permanently rather than go through the hussle of filling petitions for the spouse and then waiting indefinately and in the intervening period may be get a child and have to file a petition much later. Coming from one of the poorest countries in the world am hoping the relatively short stay can lay for me and my familiy then a relatively good financial position in Kenya. what is the opinion of thiose already there or those with knowledge about the USA vs Africa?

According to your plan, you would be living in the US for more than 5 years. If you stay there just a little bit longer, you could get US citizenship. (It takes longer than 5 years because of the time it takes to process citizenship petitions)
After you become a citizen it is very straightforward and easy to sponsor your family for immigration.
