Is A separate 1-130 required for minor child in India

Dear Member-

I am a us citizen and my wife and minor child (7 years old) are living in India.
I have applied for 1-130 for my wife and got it approved. I did not apply for 1-130 for my minor child, because some one said it is not required). BUt some one else told me that i need to apply 1-130 for my child.

Do any body know the steps involved in sponsoring my wife and son with green card from india,

I can't afford any attorney fee, so i want to do it by myself, can anyone give me the steps involved. Thanks
 
YES. u need to have separate I 130 application for your minor child. I applied for my wife and minor child I 130 during MARCH 2008 while i was on Green card. I became US citizen in OCT 2008 and immediately upgraded ( informed USCIS that i am a US citizen now) my application both for my wife and child.

Can u give your application details,, like when u filed for your wife and when the I 130 is approved..
