I am posting this for a friend of mine: He has stayed in US for last 2.5 years after getting his green card and plans to spend 80% of next 2.5 years in India. He is planning to return every 4-5 months to US using re-entry permit.
Q: Will he be able to apply for Citizenship at the end of 5 year period ? The Law says person needs to spend 2.5 years in US physically, so can he stay the rest outside ?
Any comments/experiences are appreciated.
