IRS Transcripts?

I called IRS and got transcripts till 2001. They told they don't have record to create transcript for 2000. They can make photocopy. But that will cost $39.00. Are you guys doing the same thing, transcripts for latest 4 yrs and photocopy for 5th yr?

You are filing with the 5yr requirement, right (not 3yr marriage)? I think in that case you would not need a transcript at all. Usually the folks who have to prove that they are indeed married and living together worry about the IRS records. However, just for backup purposes I plan also to get a IRS transcript. If they would not have the '01 for me, I would not mind. Possibly I may take my actual tax return ... in any case I would not spend $39 for a copy.
