IRS Transcripts

Hi,

My lawer is asking for IRS trascripts for 3 yrs to file my 140/485.I called IRS toll free number to request above and it takes time. Did somebody got transcripts from LOCAL IRS office. I heard that IRS LOCAL will issue only if I have a written document from DOL/Credit agency etc....Is this true statement.

Your help is appreciated.

IRS will send you the tax transcripts call the following number

Request transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040, or order by mail using IRS Form 4506. We do not charge a fee for transcripts. Allow two weeks for delivery.

You don't have to give any document for the same.

Thanks pgcalcutta, I already requested by phone last week, I was trying to get it from Local IRS office.

For me it took 7 business days.

I also tried to get it from Local IRS office and I have been told that , I need the INS/DOL interview letter and copy of the fax request to IRS for the transcript and the interview date should be within 7 business days.
