IR5 Original Documents weren't returned during (or after) interview

Hello, my mom just had an interview for her IR5 Visa Application on Jan 29 (after 6 months medication) because she failed her first medical exam (late May 2012). She passed the interview, but when she asked for the original documents back (Petitioner Birth Cert, Petitioner Marriage Cert, etc) the interviewer said they will keep them for now... Anyway she already got her Visa through mail but still no original documents.

Did any of you experience this? I just want my original documents back.

Please let us know how and when the documents were returned. I have the same concern as all my ( petitioner) documents are now with NVC, although my parents' interview has not even been scheduled yet.

I will thanks. Did you send your original marriage certificate? (not a certified copy) Because I sent the original not the certified copy..

I can provide you some information (not sure though). When a person gets immigrant visa stamped at embassy, he/she gets a package from embassy which he/she have to hand over to immigration person at the port of entry. At the point of entry one receives the originals back. Again I am not sure about the process.

& I am also in same situation. I did send all the originals for my parent's case. I might also need information on when & how to get the originals back.
