Hi,
Just want to clarify. I have Info Pass on Monday. I am basically going to follow up on name check.

What would you suggest in terms of preparation.

Do we have to take all documents that we had during GC. I have also applied for I-765 recently can I simply ask them to stamp my passport since my petition is approved and only waiting for name check?

How should I approach the immigration officer can I push for more details on name check?

ndp

It is advisable to take all documents that have a bearing on your case to your Infopass appointment but the IO will not stamp an approval in your passport if you are still pending namecheck.

Update on Info Pass and Name Check

Okay,
The link by Austracius was very good

I went for my Info Pass. The officer was personable.

Regarding Name Check she mentioned that I first and last name were very common so FBI has my application pending since May (when I had applied). It may take upto 4 1/2 years!!!!

I asked if there is any way to expedite it and the answer is I don't meet the criteria. The criteria is

1) I am in Military going to IRAQ
2) Crossing my 21 age
3) Crossing age 65
5) Very Ill and need my benefits

Normally it is in the interest of the local office (Boston in my case) to get this done sooner rather than later. They keep checking on my status twice each month. There is no delay when inquiring on the status. Once always ask for an update by calling USCIS and asking them to check for an update. They will then give a confirmation number P* which means it is for local Boston office. This basically means that the Boston office will provide any update.

If name check takes from the 15 months then I will have to do the FP again.

Alternative:
Apply for EAD using I-765 (which I did) and I should come back in 75 days of application if I don't hear back. I will also have to get my FP done AGAIN since it is a different receipt number ...whatever!!

For travel outside - get the Parole which is valid for multiple entries and upto one year. However, it takes up to 4 months! to receive it.
