Hi

My employer told me that my labor was applied on june 2004 through IOWA. when i asked for receipt the lawyer told me that iowa doesn't issue any receipts, I am really worried that is really doesn't issue any receipts or not. since next year is my last year in the US i have to apply for h1b extension showing the proof of labour certification.

My employer also told me that IOWA workforce will inform the company lawyer when the case is moved to federal chicago is that so? By keeping that letter itself can we file for h1b extension? can we use it as a proof?

did anyone encounter this problem before?

Please help me out in this.

As Iowa SESA is over burden now, it is no longer issuing receipt. But you can call them @515-281-9336 and can ask about the validity of your application receipt date. They just need your name and your company name.

You obviously need a receipt from SESA/DOL to file your 7th year extension. In that case, you have to ask your lawyer/company to request a receipt from Iowa SESA. In that case they will issue one. Your situation is simple.

I am not a lawyer anyway.
