Hello,

This is my case: I came to the Us on F-1 in 2000. I went back to my country of origin in 2001, in a summer break from graduate school; since then I never left the US. In 2002 I switched from F-1 to H1-B, I have kept this status as of today. My current employer started a GC process in 2005. I have pending I-485 since October 2007, My I-140 was approved on August 2007. I have EAD and AP, they have been renewed also.
My parents adquired a small business in 2006 in another state. I will be running this business after 2 years of "negotiations" with them. I am invoking portability (AC-21), and my new lawyer is also working on the H1-B transfer; my new position fits very well on my current job duties, but in a different industry. (Technical/Engineering Purchasing)

My concern is that this new job requires a lot of international travel, and soon I will leave the USA, and come back for few days to my country of origin after 8 years. My Lawyer tells me that I can travel with AP with no issues because I never have been out of status; but I am very nervous about the whole deal.

What recommendations would you give me? Will I be severely questioned for not leaving the US in such a long time? Thank you for you advice.
