You can find the list of documents on the website
http://www.path2usa.com
I used that to invite my parents last year and then my in-laws abt 3 months ago.
One new thing that is being asked for at the Mumbai consulate is
child's birth certificate.
I didn't need to send it last year, but my in-laws were asked for it
when they went in early this year.
You may want to find out abt the specific consulate your in-laws would be going to.
Also my stamped H1 was expired on both the ocassions. So I had sent in my H1-B extension.

Birth certificate

Hello goastros,

Shall I send my birth certificate or my wife's? Will notarized copy work?

Thank You.

I had sent the original copy of my wife's birth certificate ( a friend was leaving that day, so i sent that in the parcel).

I beleive a notarized copy of your wife's b.c. will work.
They want to see your wife's parents name listed on the B.C. ( even though it is also listed on the passport).
Again, i dunno which consulate your in-laws are going to.
if at Mumbai, the agency outside US visa office will tell your in-laws if notarized copy will work.

Here is the list of docs.

Hello,

I am planning to send following docs.

Affidavit of support (notarized) with me as the sponsor.
Wife's birth certificate (notarized)
Letter from Bank (original)
Marriage Certificate (notarized)

Yes, they will be going to Mumbai consulate and it is their first time.

Is there anything else I need to send?

Thank You.
