inviting a non-relative

Hello!

I am inviting a non-relative (friends's mom: 53 yrs old, housewife, husband is a doctor with private practise, two other children are married and are in India) on a visitor visa. friend (on H4) could not send the documents as they are waiting for the H1 visa extension approval.

she has an appointment in next few days in Delhi.

I have few questions and would greatly appreciate your thoughts:

1. what are the chances usually for inviting a non-relative
2. on form 156, would indicating that her daughter is here in US adversely affect her chances of getting a visa

actually it does not matter if the extension is pending, I know my parents got the visa when my H1 extension was pending and same for my in-laws. Check me posts.

It is always better to have the relative apply. If there is still time even a week, I will advise that you advise ur friend toget the spouse with H1 to sponsor. You can send the docs by fedex etc.
