My father is planning to come here for a short visit. I was wondering if someone out there has a sample personal invitation letter than I can use.

Thanks in advance.

EB3RIR,

Can you please summarize the procedure for having parents visit us.
We are planning to get my Mom and Mon-in-law for visit.
What all things need to be put together.
What questions they ask at consulate. My mom is not good at communicating in English(can say cannot communicate). My dad passed away so she has to go alone ,do they provide interpreter or how does it work.

appreciate your reply

kshashikanth,

boy that was a long list! my parents visited me 2 times in past 5 years. the last time i sent them 1-134 form and a personal invitation letter. i did not bother to send a bank statement since the bank policy had changed and the branches couldn't issue a statement letter anymore. my dad said they did not look at any of his documents and simply issued him the visa after the interview. but this can very well change from case to case. it is better to be on the safe side. i guess i just ruled out all my comments!! oh well!

good luck,
