Interviewed but no GC

Hi,
I was interviewed for my GC in local district office for EB2 based I-485 application. The interview went smooth. The officer asked just a few questions related to my employment history and asked me to give her the current pay stub as well as last three tax returns. I provided all the items to her.
I did not hear anything from USCIS for sometime and then one day my attorney called me and asked me to do my Medical asap. I did the medical the same week and returned the results to him. He sent the results to USCIS. I did not hear from the USCIS for another two months. My attorney went to check on my case and they told him that the case was approved. However, they sent the file to "National Records Center" by mistake. They requested the "NRC" to return the file to the local office which would take approximately 3 weeks and asked him to to check with them after 3 weeks.
My question is that in light of this mistake how long do i have to wait in order to get my physical GC? Can i at least have my passport stamped?

Please let me know.
Thank you!!

Why did you have to do the medical after the interview? You didn't do it before filing the I-485 papers?

Are you from India or China? India/China are retrogressed for EB2, so they can't approve your case if you were born there and your priority date is not current.

Have you checked the status of your I-485 using the USCIS online case status system?

Hi Jackolantern,

Thank you for your reply.

I did my medical over a year ago and the officer said those results were expired so she wanted me to do them again.

I am from Colombia so i fall in Rest of the World category and the EB2 visas are current for us.

I checked the status online and it shows as Pending for Initial Review. I dont think it is upto date since i was already interviewed and according to my attorney the case was already approved. I am just not sure why i have not received my card or any kind of notice of action from USCIS. They sent my file to NRC by mistake and now they are waiting for the file to return. I am not sure what to do at this point. Should i make an Infopass appoinment and talk to them or write to them? Kindly provide me a suggestion.

Thank you so much!

Was that over a year before the I-485 was filed? Under current policy, as long as the medical was done within a year before the I-485 filing, the validity of the medical is extended until I-485 adjudication.

Definitely make an Infopass appointment. Bring your passport and the I-485 receipt, and if they confirm the approval, ask for an I-551 stamp in your passport. And ask if the card was already sent and when they sent it.

Hi Jackolantern,

Thank you again for your kind reply.

Yes, it was over a year before I-485 was filed.

I will definitely make an Infopass appointment and follow what you suggested.

Thank you again!!
