Interview with expired Passport

Hello All,
My wife and I will have our interview this week and our passports is one of the documents we have been asked to bring with us. The problem is these passports expired three weeks ago. Do you see a problem with that? To renew our passports from the consulate will take around two-four weeks. Please let me know what you think.
We were hoping to get the US passport soon so we will not have a need for my original country passport.
Thanks,

FP around 03/22/206
ID 05/04/06
Oath Date within two month after Interview "Provided name check been complete".

We also brought our passports but there was no mentioning of it during the interview.

Although for the time being your passport could not serve you as a travel document, it sill documents your travels, visas and so on. The later would be the primary focus of the USCIS. You have other form of ID (greencard, driver license) to identify yourself.

So, in my opinion, you will not have a problem.

you do not need a valid passport for the interview...the passport is to make sure your dates for departure and arrival matches the dates on the application...but no one bothers to do that...

Usually they ask for Passport to see when and for how long you traveled outside of the US...since is expired, the answer to their question is that you didn't travel after the expiration date.

Do not worry about this issue.
