This is for my Mom's case, does anyone have the same experience? Should we go to interview anyway even though it was cancelled and case transfered to California Service Center?

I moved to a different city after I filed I485. I had an interview scheduled in the old city then got cancelled. About 1 month later, I received another letter from USCIS with new interview date. So I guess you shouldn't go and wait for another appointment letter. Just my 2 cents.

Here are some scenarios:
  1. You still show up to the interview and confirm that it's really canceled (especially if you do not have to travel too far)
  2. You do not show up and they resend new appointment
  3. You do not show up and your parent gets approved (it does happen especially when it's a mother)
  4. You do not show up and get a letter a few months later saying you missed the interview
  5. You call USCIS or write letter to confirm that it's really canceled

I do not really know the answer because all the above have happened to people before. I guess I would try to contact them before I go and make sure. However, the USCIS does make errors so if it's not far I would still show up.

I do hope that you can get confirmation before the interview date.
