interview- urgent question

I have to share with you all my confusion and frustration.
As I mentioned earlier, two month ago we received a PF notice. I was so excited that I opened only one envelope and it was for my husband., I assumed that the rest is for my children and myself (I had it before 2 years ago), In a couple of days I opened all envelopes and couldn’t believe- THEY WERE ALL THE SAME FOR MY HUSBAND.
So, he went for PF and have them done July 10. I called to national customer service and they promised to do investigation. Yesterday we received a letter for appointment on 09/09 and bring all items that are checked(X) . I don’t want to list all of them but they are very confusing to me f.e :
- petitioner and all beneficiary must be present ( but I am a principal applicant and I have not had my FP done yet)
- utility bills, wedding photo sand any other evidence you feel would help establish that your marriage is bonfire
- income tax form with W-2 for the last three years.
- Current letter of employment.
My question is: are they insane ? What all that means? Does he really need to bring all this including me and children?
Please, help me what should we do. And there is no phone number to contact them.

Is the interview letter addressed to him?

It sounds like the letter is supposed for marriage-based immigration cases. I am as confused as you are. Did you check your status online?

Do you mind listing other evidence they want you to bring to the interview?

I see no sense for this unless they think your husband married you for the purpose of being a derivative asylee??? But you daughter is already of college age.

Probably they sent out the wrong type of letter.

First of all, just relax. I know it is not easy, but try to stay calm. Go thorugh the letter and get all items they are requiring. At least you will have the chance to meet them face to face and get answers to all your questions. It seems that for some reason they are trying to verify the marriage is legitimate, what for? who knows?
But as said before you will get your chance to find out what is going on. Who has nothing to hide, has nothing to be afraid of. Dont you think so?
Just stay calm, be prepared, strictly follow the instructions in the letter, get everything they are asking for, do not leave anything missing and you will be OK.

This is not a marriage-based case. I've been married to same person more then twenty years. I am a principal applicant in our asylum case , but we applied as a family in 1992.
I called my friend, she is a lawyer, she tolled me I should ignore this letter this is a standard letter they send to everybody.
And I cannot go for interview, this is not for me. Probably at the time of interview they will realize that he is a principal applicant. Anyway, I need a lawyer, I know it for sure.

O, my God, Irina... INS is just insane...
Talk to lawers, have all documents ready, do not ignore letters without being sure... INS always right, you know.
It's a lot of work, but at least something connecting with your case is moving already... They will give you GC.

No matter what a lawyer says I wouldnt ignore a letter like that neither consider a valid option not going for the interview. Doesnt make sense to me.
At least I would double check a second and third opinion, before deciding just to ignore evrything.

I don't think it's good idea to ignore anything with INS,
Regardles what your lawyer says.

I am sorry that it took me so long to post this letter.
I am doing it now. tomorrow we have an appointment with lawyer and he asked to bring all documents that checked in this letter. Interview is on 09/09.

Thank you for posting this letter in its entirety. I think it is a standard letter for marriage-based adjustment interview. My best guess is whoever mailed it selected the wrong text (or the office staff was too lazy to type up a relevant interview notice).

For asylee cases, there was neither a petitioner nor a beneficiary. The term co-sponsor is not applicable. Nor is if the applicant is employed relevent to adjudication.

My suggestion to you is the your whole family should show up at the interview. If financially possible, bring a lawyer along too.

Tomorrow we have an appointment with lawyer who will come to the interview with us. I prepared all documents that they asked , just in case. I got my medical today( I didn’t submitted it with my application five years ago). Will see what lawyer will tell us to do. I am really tiered from all this, but this is my luck.
