Hi,
I moved from Milpitas to Fremont (within CA bay area) in June 2008. I never filed the AR 11 form (change of address). My driver license also shows the old address, but I had gone to DMV last month and they gave me a brown card showing that I have changed my address with DMV.

3 Qs:
1) Should I file AR 11 now? I know I'm supposed to file within 10 days, but...
2) For citizenship interview, does the officer typically press on the fact that u filed AR 11 or not?
3) For proof of name, do they ask for Green Card ONLY or Green Card AND Driver's License?

Thanks a lot!

Sorry, can't really say on the first two questions.

At my interview a week or so back the IO asked for GC and DL only. I think they like to see the DL as it has your address on it. If the paper the DMV gave you has your new address, that might suffice. However they do ask for a State issued photo ID. Go to the DMV and see if they can give you an ID card on the spot or before the interview.

I mentioned in another thread when reporting on my experience at the interview office. While I was waiting to be called a woman came in and said at the desk, "my mother is here for her interview, but she does not have a photo ID and they will not let her in."

Your GC may be enough to get you in, but I would try and get something with a photo from the DMV. :) The form specifically asks for State issued photo ID. Maybe take your foreign passport even if it has expired.

1. You were supposed to file AR-11 within 10 days. You should file it now. It is the law.
2. Not sure.
3. Yes both. IO asks for green card because IO wants to see dates (resident since when) IO also asks for driver license (or State-issued photo ID) because IO wants to confirm that a person lives with in the local office jurisdiction. If the address are not in the list of local office jurisdiction, you may show your bills where you live for 3 months.

Forget AR-11. Nobody cares about that.
For proof of name they are looking for your birth or marriage certificate or court order only.
