Dear All,
My interview for the I485 is scheduled on August30 at 10am.

Following are the documents requested:
* Passort, I94
* Medical exam results,form I693.
* I-864 from the petitioner and copies of last 3 years tax returns
* A current letter of employment for me and / or my spouse
* Evidence of a common residence and shared life

Regarding the I-864, Do I and my wife both fill the forms for ourself. Meaning I will be responsible for finanial support for me and my family.

What are the other supporting documents which might be asked. I don't have a lawyer currently, do I have to hire one for this.

:confused: :confused:

Thanks in advance,

Anand

Anand,
Have they checked everything for you for the documents that you requested? Only when you see "X" in the boxes, then you need to take those documents.

You dont need a lawyer as long as your case is straight forward. Lawyers normally charge around $500 for an interview presentation.

You can probably take an affidavit of support that you are supporting your wife and she is dependent on you. Incase if your wife is already working using EAD, then take an offer letter, EVL from her employer and paystubs.

That should suffice.

Good Luck!

Krishna,
Thanks for your response. Now I notice, none of the document is marked with "X". :confused: Now it confusses me further, does this mean they are not expecting any doument. :(

Anyone else with the same situation???

Thanks again

Anand,
I was just asked I94 and Passport, but when I went for the interview, they asked many documents. Its always better to take all documents that support your 485 application. If you can see at the bottom of the interview letter, they would say bring all documents. But I am surprised as why they haven't checked any box for you in your letter.

My suggestion is, take all documents with you to be on the safer side. Read my posting in 485 Vermont Processing Center ("Want GC Soon" approved thread) to give you a better understanding.

I didnt do medicals again, as my medicals was done in September 2003 only.

Good Luck!
