Hi Folks,

I got this letter from the USCIS regarding the upcoming interview/.

"If you have any federal, state or local taxes that are overdue, bring a signed agreement from the IRS, state or local tax office showing that you have filed a tax return and have arranged to pay the taxes you owe. Also, bring documentation from the IRS, state or local tax office showing the current status of your repayment program."

I don't have any outstanding taxes. So I assume that I don't have to take any IRS statement with me for the interview. Am I right?

Is the above letter regarding the tax statement something that everyone receives from the USCIS before the interview?

Thanks a lot.

bring tax return transcripts from the IRS to the interview. you can request them online from IRS.

I am trying to understand the reason for that letter. Did you say yes to any of the following questions in your N400 application?

---
Since becoming a lawful permanent resident, have you ever failed to file a required Federal, State or local tax return?

Do you owe any Federal, State, or local taxes that are overdue?
---

Question on your GC, is it Employment or family based?

Hi p001,

I didn't say yes to either of those questions.

My GC was employment based (EB2-RIR). Does that matter for this scenario?

Thanks

Thanks. I asked that question as I didn't see any letter from USCIS to bring Tax transcripts. Usually they do ask for that during the interview for some cases.

As gunt said you should be fine by using transcripts. They sent me last 4 years transcripts (2007-2010) as they don't send prior to last 3 years. I called again and requested for 2006 and they sent me same letter (we can't send transcripts that are older than 3 years). Some people got the last 5 years, so call them and request for last 5 years.
