Interview Questions

Do you need to answer exact same sentence (with punctuation ) from sample for the 100 USCIS questions?

I was looking to at a site and started answering the question and I got 5 out of 10. The 90% of the error due to missing "the" or "an" or punctuation.

Do they follow same strict rule in the interview?

For example I wrote the name of the current president as

George W Bush

It was incorrect as I didn't put "." after "W". So it should be

George W. Bush

Can someone clarify this?

First of all as far as I know the history/civic question/answers are not in writing. So, the punctuation issue is out of the question.

Secondly, nobody will make a big deal of not answering exactly, word by word, to the question.

So, just try to remember all the answers and relax, this is not, and is not going to be, your problem.

I think only mentally retarded people fail the test, and the careless imbecils who don't bother to read the 100 question.

Hope.

Does all the DOs follow the same rule? Can anyone from Atlanta DO clarify this? My interview is tomorrow.

Hi Hidimba,

I had my interview at the Atlanta DO. Basically like everyone has mentioned prepare yourself with the 100 question posted.

Here is a link i used to prepare myself,

http://aenet.esuhsd.org/Citizenship_lessons/Citizen/

After the Officer goes over your application details like when you traveled, where you are working etc. The Officier will simply ask you questions for your Civic test, which you answer verbaly. So don't worry about punctuation! Once you pass that, the Officer will ask you to write a sentence which he/she will dicate to you. Thats it!!

Good Luck tomorrow!!!

Thanks to all of you.

Yes I need that good luck.

I will let you know how everything went tomorrow night.

I'm 99.99% sure all the DO have the same rule and I guarantee you that you will not have a punctuation issue to this test.

I am convinced, though, that a lot of Americans would fail the test if they had to take it...

Yes, we were talking about naturalization applicants
The born Americans, of course a big percentage of them will fail the test, they don't have to learn all this stuff to become citizens.

I bet 90% of the Americans don't know what's the name of their City Mayor, who are the two Senators in their state, who is the Supreme Court Chief Justice...and maybe close to 100% is the percentage of the ones who will not be able to name the first 13 states :D

I remember, 15 years ago I've told to an American citizen (with college education!) that I have to get my Green Card...he was looking to me like I was an alien from another planet and asked me: "What's that a Green Card?"
