Has anybody received an interview letter after the USCIS acknowledged receipt of answer to RFE in May 2006?

I'm trying to find out how long it takes to get an interview letter after an RFE.

unfortunately, no one know about this timeline as it is pretty random. You should be happy that you got your interview notice. BTW. What was your RFE for?

My RFE was for a birth certificate.

I haven't received the interview notice, that's the problem.

My RFE was received by USCIS on May 9th 2006.

Is it too early to worry?

My DO is Memphis.

Also do u actually get a notice saying ur case was transferred from NBC to a local office?

Most common reason for RFE. Nothing to worry about.

Sorry, my bad. I read it wrong.

In my case, i got my interview letter close to 45 days after my RFE response was received by USCIS. That was last nov, and the process hasn;t changed much. i guess you should be getting your interview letter in the next one to two weeks, so hang on there...

My DO is Memphis.

No. There is no notice. This is an internal process and is trasnparent to you. There "might" be a LUD on your case, but you will never know as the status text does not change.

They received my RFE back in march, no interview letter yet. Nothing to worry about, if you are still under the 120-180 days from ND.

We could open a thread about things to do to kill time. :D

There is nothing to worry, unfortunately that is the problem there is not a timeline when a person received a RFE, but there are some who had no problem at all even with the RFE.

I don't know how fast is Memphis, but your spouse already made her Bio and FP,s? can you tell us your timeline so we can check?

Good luck,

There was an old thread for EAD's with RFE but I don't know if people continue it...but will be good to put for EAD and Interview letter ;) You can include all the District Officer and by State to make a guideline.

I'n not sure I understand ur question...do we both need to do FP's and Bio's?

I did mine.

I-485/I-130- ND- 03/14/2006
I-1765(ONLINE) - 03/28/2006
FP/BIO(I-765) - 04/04/2006
FP/BIO(I-485) - 04/17/2006
RFE -04/20/2006
RESPONSE TO RFE RECEIVED BY USCIS - 05/09/2006
LUD (I-485) - 05/13/2006
LUD(I-485) - 05/17/2006
DO: MEMPHIS,TN

Kevin,

I too had an RFE for my birth certificate, a little later than yours though. Haven't got my IL yet, but I think it's too early to expect one (for me anyway).
It's interesting with the LUDs though, because my timeline had the same pattern: two LUDs for I-485 in a couple of days after they received the RFE.
I had one LUD on 24th May and one on 26th.

From what I have seen so far it takes a couple of weeks after they received your RFE. But who knows.. maybe it will be faster than that! :)

Sorry I thought you were the USC hehehe...upps my misunderstanding.

If you already did your Bio and FP's then you are even in a better shape! I just saw your timeline...what's wrong with me today?

No, only the immigrant is the one who must take the bio and fp's and medical examination.

I get that a lot, I'm assimilating faster than change in Gas prices. :D

FP and Interview letter

Hello all,

I would like to have some clarification about the interview letter that you are talking about.
my situation is
I140/I4485/EAD/AP ----- RD --- 2/21/2006
EAD approved on ---- 3/15/2006
AP appoved on ----- 4/01/2006
Fingerprinting and BIO done on ---- 4/07/2006.

Got RFE on I140 ---- 5/15/2006.
RFE is for company merger.
The lawyer replied but no status change yet. For 485 there is no status change since we gave the BIO and FPs.

Eagerly waiting for 140 to be cleared. Can you please explain me what is the interview letter for and why there is no statsu change ever since we gave the BIO.

thanks.

Family based immigrant visas are process in a different way than the ones for Employment based (and since you are I-140 means you are Employment based).

In family based cases the petitioner and the immigrant(s) must go to an interview so they can verify that there is indeed a bona fide marriage (in case of marriage) and for other relatives sometimes this interview is skip but most of the time the interview is to show the existing relationship between the petitioner and the immigrant to avoid fraud.

Good luck,

Good luck,

At the interview you will be approved or denied that is the last step on family based cases to become a LPR.

Now, through Consular Processing the only who must go to the interview is the immigrant.

At the interview you must bring all kind of proof of your relationship with the petitioner.
