Interview: joint or separate?

After reading some docs and threads I came to wonder: are the interviews conducted with the couple jointly, or each individually?

Both. It all depends on the IO and what their interview style is. I was interviewed separate from my husband who was then asked the same questions as I was. It was our only interview.
