Interview Jitters

hi everyone.

My interview is coming up in 2 weeks and I am just trying to think of questions i might be asked. here is a quick bio about me. entered in 97 and stayed until 04 on j1 and f1 visa. entered us as a tourist and got married in 0ct 06.

I have had very minimal income since my wife works but have helped out at a summer camp that she worked at and had a few research (cash) jobs.

My question is, what should I say if I would be asked if I worked since coming back to the us. None of it is being declared by the employer so I wonder if I should say no. I would like to be honest and am wondering if it could just turn into a headache of more questions?

Thanks

Hi:

You should be completely honest about it. Illegal work will be forgiven to the spouse of a USC. Your biggest problem could arise when you lie about it.

thanks...i know lying is not the right thing, it is just that my lawyer even wasn't sure what we should do. He said it is up to me. He said they might not even ask. I have a meeting today with him anyway but wanted to get some input from the forum

thanks again.

If you are asked about it on any form, or orally, you need to declare it. On the other had, if you are not asked, you need not mention it.

Your illegal employment will be protected by law ---- lying about it will not.
