Interview is advanced to an earlier date

My wife received a letter from the US Consulate at chennai saying that:
"Due to administrative reasons your appointmnet is advanced to september 11,2003 at 10:00am. Please present this letter along with the documents mentioned in our earlier appointment letter. You may use the forms sent earlier."

All hell break loose now. I have booked my tkts based on the original interview date sep 26. I was planning to get all the docs done during sep 1st week. i have to get transit visa, employment letter, affidavit of support, bank letter, etc

Will there be any hidden reason for advancing the interview? Do i have to worry abt it? Will it be possible to postpone to original interview date - sep 26?

I am going crazy!
 
Oh God,

Cannon, do you have the guts to say that you have not received the new letter and go to the consulate as scheduled on September 26th?
Or send an email to them and list all your issues - they may consider.

mine is september 24th - if u what u have said is true for everyone, then i may have to start now.
I am sending an email to them now.
I haven't received the first appointment letter and i emailed them - they said they will send one more copy.

saturday - sunday - labor day - cant find out for another three days. Good timing by consulate.

Go to temple this weekend.

May sound funny but nothing much we can do for another 2-3 days.

I hope everything will resolve to your satisifaction by tuesday.

I thought os sending an email to them, but wait untill Monday night (EST). If we send an email on Monday night - you will get a response - usually in a couple of hours - Send an email before going to bed on Monday night and you will get the response by the time you get up - that was based on my personal experience - 2 times. I wil do the same on Monday night - if my local madras address doesn't receive any letter from consulate

My last correspondence with Consulate was on Aug-26th.
They didn't mention anything about the Intterview date change.
When did your wife receive this letter? Only if u have time.
Fill and Print out the form from German Consulate and be ready with everything by Tuesday.

It seems the US consulate at chennai is closed for public on Sep 26. I am not sure if its only Sep 26 or for more days. Thats the reason they have advanced my interview date to sep 11.
 
If I were you I would send an email explaining that you have already booked your tickets based on 9/26 interview date and it would be difficult to change tickets such as to reach chennai before 9/11. Also have one of your folks to follow up with chennai consulate.

I am sure chennai consulate will understand and reschedule for last week of sept. See if this works! All the best!
 
well, my wife called them asking them to move to a different date. THey said they dont have any other dates available in sept or oct. They asked us to call them again tomorrow. But, most probably we are stuck with sep 11, unless i want to move it to november.
