Hello Everyone,

I applied for my spouse a year ago for immigrant visa. I am doing consular processing. Interview is soon for my spouse. The problem is that I have lost my job 3 months ago. Can the officer create problem for my spouse on approving the visa. Your help will be greatful.

as ur petitioning for ur spouse, we can assume that ur a LPR or a USC, but can you be a bit more clear, a year for visa for the spouse of a USC sounds too long. which country is ur spouse in ?

I am the petitioner and a US citizen. I sponsored for my spouse a year ago and finally the interview is in India. It is a consular processing. My spouse lives in India and I live here. Few months back I lost my job so my question is will that be a problem during the interview. Will the officer create a problem approving the visa.

losing the job shouldnt be a problem, include a co-sponsor for the affidavit of support if at all to meet the criteria. other than that you are good. in between, had you delayed the CP process, as i feel like 12 months is an unreasonable amount of time for CP for the USC's spouse, most of the ones that i had seen were at most 6-7 months. can you let me know the consulate for the matter ? best wishes and good luck. do keep us posted
