Hello everyone
I am new to this forum and really appreciate the great discussion here.

I have filed for my GC thru my wife who just became a citizen and after reading multiple posts on this forum i understand that everyone has to go for an interview, about which i was under the impression that only a few have to go for personal apprearence and since my case was pretty clear i would not have to make a trip 350 miles away to my DO.

Can someone please clarify?

Also if most of us have to go for an interview, what all prepration is needed and what sort of questions do they ask.

I would really appreciate any input in this matter.
Thanks

Some lucky people are getting transferred to the California Service Center where they are approved without an interview. These people are usually people who's foriegn spouses are here on K-1 visas and have been married for less than 2 years.

Getting an interview is not a sign that USCIS doesn't think your case is "pretty clear". Most people have to go for interview. In most cases its a formality. My interview for example lasted about 15 mins and was basically just verifying some of the information on the form.

If you look online you can find examples of interviews.

The interview process as Dr_LHA mentioned is mostly a fromaility, meeting face to face with an USCIS IO helps the USCIS verify information and eliminate fraudulent cases.

Our interview was less than 15 minutes as well, we were simply asked to verify info we had already submitted ( Everything on G325)

I would advise both USC & intending Immigrant to be sure that yopu are familiar with everything you put on G325 and be able to verify it when asked about it.

other than that the interview may require you re-submit hard copies of financial evidence ( IRS docs, Paycheck Stubs ectt..) Bring originals of EVERYTHING submited to the interview, as well as passports, Birth certs, marriage docs .

I would not worry too much about interview questions all is pretty basic stuff. as long as your relationship is legit then you should have nothing to worry about.

Some last minute interview tips:
You look down, they know you're lying
and up, they know you don't know the truth.
Don't use seven words when four will do.
Don't shift your weight, always look the IO in the eyes but don't stare, be specific but not memorable,
be funny but don't make him laugh. He's got to like you then forget you the moment you've left the interview.
And for God's sake, whatever you do, during the interview don't, under any circumstances...

I'm a 29 year old EWI, and my stepfather has petition for me...we have an interview for next month are there a list of question that will be asked, and how do i find them.

The first question will most likely be: Do you have a waiver for your EWI?

I hope for your sake that the answer is yes!
