So, I went with my daughter to the interview yesterday, even though the officer who interviewed us last year said that only the sponsor (my husband) would have to appear. Well, thank god I was there as this officer wanted my green card, my birth certificate, my divorce decree and asked questions about my ex that my husband may not have been able to provide answers to. Then he wanted my husband's divorce decree. Well, I didn't bring it because this was not supposed to be required for the derivative status or I thought. So after the interview I had to go home, copy it and mail it to him so our case could be approved. Peace of advice. Take everything you have even though it makes no sense to take. Even if you have a previous completed application don't assume they have your stuff on file right there and then.
