Finally got 485 approved after interview.
I was member of a communist youth organization, like everybody in
the ex communist block and I made the mistake to say so on my 485 form, that\'s why I had an interview. Also the period between I got in the country on B1 and the H1 was close to 60 days, that raises a flag in their
files.
The interview took 10-15 minutes, I had a lawyer that didn\'t say anything
and got $100/minute for that but I don\'t regret it, for my peace of mind.
Card will arrive in 3-6 months they say
RD 10/98
FP 4/99
Transefered to Hartford 6/5/00
Interview 10/24/00

I am in similar situation. I mentioned my membership in youth communist organization in I-485 (you couldn\'t be admitted to college if you were not a member). I didn\'t have interview yet. I am wondering what questions they asked at interview.

Just mention that and you will be fine.
I told them that every body in the class that was not a dropout was made a member in the 8th grade(14 yo), no questions asked. She was fine with that answer.

Did they ask you any question specific to your B1-H1 conversion ??
If yes, could you tell what they asked ???

They Asked:
When did you get in the country first time ?
What kind of visa did you have?
When did you start working for your company on H1 ?
Can you show me your H1 approval notice?
At that point I was getting nervous but that was it.
