I requested an expedited interview in mid-September 2024, and three weeks later, I received a response from the immigration office stating that my request had been approved. However, they said that they placed me on a short list for the interview and informed me that once an interview slot becomes available, I would be scheduled. Nothing more, nothing less. Now it's mid-November, and the interview has still not been scheduled. Therefore, I’m not sure if my request has really been granted. This is all related to the office in Chicago.
I didnt know that option existed. please share for others.

As far as I know, to receive an expedited interview, there must be a valid reason. Such reasons include, for example, a health condition that threatens your life or new circumstances that put the lives of your relatives in your home country at risk due to political persecution. To request an expedited interview, you need to write a letter explaining the situation and provide documentary evidence of your urgent circumstances. (From what I understand, illnesses of your relatives, children’s disabilities, etc., do not count). The letter must be sent in paper copy to the address of your immigration office.

Could you share how you asked for your expedite, and how long you waited?
Yeah, my office doesn’t have a shortlist so the closest thing we have is an expedite request and there are specific criteria that’s on the USCIS website regarding what reasons you can expedite for. Once you conclude you fall into one of these categories, just get all your documentations and proof that make you eligible for an expedition and submit it to the office. I submitted 9/5/24 and got response 10/2/24 and interview was scheduled for early November

when you say 'derivatives' you meant dependents / Kids. Right?

What happens when dependents Kids turns 18 during processing of case and then they go for interview?

Yes, i don’t think being 18 affects anything. I only know if they were over 21 years of age at time of filing, then they would have needed a separate application.

I would say interview experience for derivatives is dependent on AO, I have seen cases where they whole family was at the interview and cases were derivatives were only called in for statutory bar questions and dismissed

If both parents filed separately, Can Dependents be included in both applications?
