Interview done didn't get PP Stamped

We had our interview in NYC office on Oct 12th.Interview officer was very nice, she didn’t ask too many questions. According to Visa officer Interview, Security clearance and finger print are clear but she didn’t stamp our passport because visa wasn’t available. She wrote on our passport that I 485 is pending and said that will receive our cards in the mail when the visa is available. Our priority date is April 30th 2001 and current is March 1st 2001.

We just want to find out how long we have to wait to get the green card in mail.

Congratulations! You are through and just have to wait for PD becoming current.

Infact this is very informative thread for us. It clearely indicate that I-485 processing will continue to the final point and only will not be stamped for the want of becoming PD current. It means that in this process some i-485 will be denied. Such people will have time to deal with denial, MTR, appeal and will not loose if they are able to prevent final denial. Any way one has to wait for becoming PD current to get GC.

Just MAYBE.

Local offices work differently from the four national service centers.

I'am in the same situation where you are, I have got my interview done on Feb-24-2005 and the officer said that he is going to approve the case, until he realised that the priority dates are not current.

So I'am hanging in the middle since then because of the priority dates.

Long await gives best results. Hangin there buddy.

which country are you from, India? I checked the State Dept website and the current PD for India is 1st Jan 98. Do you think they will process all cases with PD Jan 98 and then move to next month next year?
