Hi,

In the Interview letter, it is stated that we need to take a certified copy of the marriage document.

Can I take the marriage document to a notary here in the US and get it notarized. Would that suffice?

Thanks a lot, Ani

Request for a certified copy from the county that issued your original. That's what I have done.

Thanks.

But, my country doesn't issue a Ceritified copy of the marrigae certificate
they give only the original.

So, my question is can I get the marriage certificate certified by a notary here in the US?

For the interview you need the original and a simple copy of it. You don't have to notarize but you can if you wish, since it's free at some places.

jupiter07 is right, if you have original it should be good! Just make a copy of it and carry both original & copy to your interview. That's what I am planning to do.

If you really want to play it safe; just order one more original from county and carry 2 originals in case your interview officer wants one! although it will cost you more to order another one.
