Hi Guys,
I was gathering all the docs and just realized that I do not have a original Lease agreement for our apartment. For some reason I only received a photo copy of the Lease agreement.

Would this create any issues?

Please let me know

Typically most places give you copy of the lease only. I realized that when I was putting together our old leases. You take what you have. It should be fine.

Thanks Tom. I was gonna call my landlord and blast them for not giving me another original copy. I guess it was my fault too for not asking at the time of the lease

Well you sign only one copy of the lease, which, for legal purposes your landlord keeps. For your records he/she gives you a copy! Copies are fine.

Our lease was from June 2006 to May 2007, then on a month-to-month basis. We got a letter from our property manager that says we have been living here non-stop since June 2006. I submitted a copy of the top page of our lease (with the dates and the amounts, plus what is included) and the letter from the property manager with my I-130 to prove the marriage. I haven't heard anything, so I take it is ok by USCIS.

My wife photocopied the entire lease to submit for the I-130. We only included the page with our information and everyone signatures. The other pages were regarding county and state regulations regarding living in a rental community. I didn't think it proved anything nor do they care about rental regulations so I didn't send that part. Was that acceptable?
